What is happening with your fire protection?
We have mentioned different times about fire safety sessions at schools. We focus on many different aspects of fire safety, including smoke alarms. We also look at what to do when your house is on fire, sound off, do not hide, get low, get out and stay out, have a meeting place. We look at do not be afraid of the firefighter. We demonstrate stop, drop, and roll, and we shoot water to show what the truck can do and to impress the children. In two weeks, we did 8 different sessions for a total of around 500 students, plus the teachers. It truly is, to a real degree, training we hope they never have to use, but we want to put it in their minds just in case. The true challenge is to create an interest to explore and learn more than we can actually teach in the short time we are there. We still look forward to many safety sessions this year. We will present to clubs, businesses, churches, and simply groups of people who just want to learn. Give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you.
