1st time was the charm!

The Cicero Public Library received a Project Next Generation Grant from Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias.

Cristian Hernandez, our Forge Master, ran an 8-week hands-on program, "Shark Tank" style. Our students not only learned how to use the equipment in the Makerspace, but how to design a product, make the product, and then "pitch" the product.

At the October 12th Board Meeting, the Library Board of Trustees recognized the efforts of the students and the Forge Master. Our Library Director, Sandra Tomschin, noted: " The strong presence of fathers today was highly noticeable and appreciated"

Library President Dr. Anthony Grazzini thanked Secretary of State Giannoulias for offering inspirational grants that will spark the creativity of our future. He also congratulated all the participants and hopes to see their success in the future.

A Delicious Taste of Cicero History- Cicero Public Library dedicates conference room to the memory of Klas restaurant and Family.

On Saturday, October 10, we officially named our conference room “Klas Conference Room”, in memory of one of our most famous and missed establishments.

This room is filled with artifacts saved from the space prior to demolition. We honored the preservation efforts of: Irene Hogstrom, Mark Bragen, Shirley Manzi, Mark Manzi and Jimmy Nuter, who graciously donated and transported the artifacts to our Cicero Public Library.

After patrons toured the updated space, we enjoyed Czech Pastries from the Parci Family and shared cherished memories of times gone but not forgotten.

As we look toward the future, we protect and remember our past.

A special thank you to Rosemarie Esposito, our Cicero Public Library Board Member and John Kociolko, our former Cicero Town Trustee, who joined us on this special occasion!
