November's Luncheon will feature our 2026 NRW Scholarship Winner and Veterans. While we cannot introduce you to our Scholarship winner quite yet, we would like to take the time and share information about our two other speakers and what they do for veterans year-round.
Mustang Journey is a 501 c 3 nonprofit organization dedicated to adopting Mustangs from the Bureau of Land Management holding pens and rescuing Mustangs that have been abandoned and are at risk. Mustang Journey is the community coming together to adopt, gentle, train, and find forever homes for these symbols of American Freedom. Veterans helping Mustangs helping Veterans
Under the supervision of Mustang Journey trainers, community volunteers and veterans learn thru hands-on interaction to transform Mustangs from wild to ready for adoption.
They provide a program that teaches participants life changing skills and trust bonding with a wild Mustang, whose experience often parallels the experiences of Veterans, First Responders and those seeking relief from anxiety. In addition, Veterans are equipped with knowledge and techniques to gentle and train a wild horse allowing them to help train other Veterans. America’s wild mustangs are adopted into forever homes making way for additional mustangs to be rescued, trained and adopted. And lastly, they provide a place and forum for the community to coalesce behind horse rescue.
Honor Flight Tri-State offers Honor Flights to veterans so they may visit their memorials in Washington, D.C. All World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War veterans aged 65 and older who served either stateside or overseas, are eligible. The Honor Flight experience is completely free of charge for all participating Veterans. If a Veteran does not have a family member or friend to accompany them, we assign a trained and enthusiastic guardian to assist throughout the day.
Each flight includes:
Chartered Flight and Luxury Bus tour of memorials in our nation's capital.
Honor Flight Tri-State signature t-shirt (required to wear on the trip)
Name badge keepsake
Three meals, snacks and water
An assigned guardian if the veteran doesn't have a guardian already
A full day of honor, gratitude, and memories
Flights depart from the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG). Veterans must arrange their own transportation to and from the airport. Guardians are required to attend a pre-flight meeting one week before departure and are responsible for a guardian fee.
