With high winds bringing down trees and limbs on utility lines, now seems like a good time to remind drivers what to do at an intersection when the power is out or the traffic light is malfunctioning.🚦

The sleet is falling and so is the temperature. Roadways and sidewalks are already becoming slick.

If you have to go out today, follow these tips for driving in icy conditions:

• Make sure your vehicle is prepared for winter driving- have good tires, replace old batteries, clear your windows, have emergency supplies in your vehicle, in case you break down or get stuck.
• Slow down! …and leave extra space between you and other vehicles.
• Turn into a slide.
• Wear your seatbelt! They save lives and it’s the law.
• Be gentle with braking. Pump the brakes, don’t slam on them.
• And the best tip- Just Stay Home!

❄️ With the arrival of the first official snow of the season, Golf Manor Police want to remind you of some driving tips to get you to your destination safely. ❄️

• watch your speed and leave extra space between you and the car in front of you

• turn your headlights on, so other drivers can see you better as conditions change

• keep your windows clear of snow and ice

• make sure your tires are properly inflated and have good tread

• keep at least half a tank of gas to prevent fuel line freeze up and to avoid running out of gas if you get stuck in traffic …looking at you State of Virginia

Today was “Shop With A K9 Cop”. We’d like to thank all our community partners who helped children from Pleasant Ridge Montessori and Roselawn Condon School have an extra special Christmas this year.

Officers from Golf Manor, Amberley Village, Norwood, Mariemont, UC, and Cincinnati Police Departments; Cincinnati Reds Public Safety; and the Matt Haverkamp Foundation all helped with the shopping at Meijer, while the Cincinnati Reds and Larosa’s Pizza provided a little lunchtime fun. Once again, Petermann Bus provided us with transportation for the day.

Thank you all for your help today! What a wonderful start to the Christmas season.
