The Hamilton County Board of Commissioners proudly proclaims Friday, October 2, 2026 as Brandon Prather-Young Day!
On September 4 at 10:26 p.m., Communications Officer Brandon Prather-Young answered an emergency call from a frantic father reporting that a woman was about to give birth in his truck. Brandon got the caller's location, dispatched police and EMS, and calmly guided the father through the delivery — giving critical medical instructions to care for mother and baby until help arrived.
For his quick thinking and compassion, Brandon was presented with the Stork Award, recognizing emergency communications professionals who assist in the delivery of a baby during a call. His actions reflect the dedication of Hamilton County's emergency communications professionals, a lifeline for residents when seconds count.
Congratulations, Brandon, and thank you for your outstanding service!
