Big news from our green space โ and we have some very special partners to thank!
Thanks to the generous support of the Michael Ibold Wilger Foundation and GE Aerospace Community Service Fund, we are bringing a new adaptive wheelchair swing to Saint Joe's! ๐ณ
This isn't just any swing. It's designed to hold a wheelchair securely, so our residents can experience the simple, joyful feeling of swinging โ fresh air, movement, and a little bit of magic โ right in our own backyard.
This swing was made possible by grants from the Michael Ibold Wilger Foundation and GE Aerospace Community Service Fund. We are so grateful to both organizations for seeing the value in enriching the everyday lives of the people we serve.
To our friends at โ thank you for your continued commitment to our community and to making possibility a reality for our residents. It has truly been a pleasure partnering with you. ๐
Stay tuned โ we can't wait to show you this incredible new addition in action!

We mailed out our Spring Appeal a few weeks ago, and the response was incredible!
Nearly 100 gifts came in totaling $24,900 โ all in support of children like Journee and the compassionate team that cares for her every day.
If you gave, thank you. Because of supporters like you, Saint Joe's gets to be the kind of place where a little girl rolls over for the first time and has a whole room full of people cheering her on.
Thank you for choosing to be part of what we do here. ๐

๐ Mission Monday: Employee Spotlight โ Hi, I'm Vanessa!
If you've read a story on our website, liked a social post, or opened one of our emails or donor appealsโฆ hi, that's me! ๐
I'm Vanessa Schutte, Saint Joe's Marketing & Communications Manager โ and this April, I celebrated my one-year anniversary here. I handle all things marketing: advertising, our website, content and social media, communications, and working closely with our Advancement team on everything supporter-facing, from appeals and campaigns to donor emails. Basically, if it has words and a Saint Joe's logo on it, it probably crossed my desk. ๐
I came to Saint Joe's from a corporate marketing background โ brand strategy and ex*****on for companies like P&G, Newell, and most recently Gorilla Glue, where I spent five+ years on their international team. The move to nonprofit was something I'd always had in the back of my mind, and honestly, making that leap was one of the things I'm most proud of. Saint Joe's felt right from the start โ this place is truly about community, and I feel that every day.
Outside of work, I'm a proud Cincinnati girl! Married, with two kids (10 & 11 โ in absolutely every sport imaginable ๐
). We're a Bengals, Reds, Xavier basketball, FC Cincinnati household through and through. And in the fall and holiday season, you might just find me at a local market selling my handmade candles. ๐ฏ๏ธ
So glad to be part of this mission โ and grateful to help tell its story. ๐

Thereโs ALWAYS something fun happening in our Adult Day Programs!
The bunnies made another special visit โ this time hopping over to our Blue Ash Day Program! ๐ฐ Participants also enjoyed a visit from Ensemble Theater, which continues to be a favorite activity filled with laughter, creativity, and connection. ๐ญ
And sometimes the best moments are the simple ones โ like heading out together to enjoy some fries with friends!๐
Meanwhile at our Sharonville Day Program, participants have been hard at work hand-painting flower pots that will be available for purchase at tomorrowโs plant sale! ๐ผ We hope youโll stop by and support their amazing work.
Every week brings new experiences, community connections, and plenty of smiles along the way.
Have a great weekend!

Mission Monday ๐
We're giving a shoutout to May We Help today โ an extraordinary nonprofit partner making independence possible for people with disabilities right here in our community.
May We Help's team of skilled volunteers โ engineers, designers, woodworkers, therapists, and more โ come together to design and build custom, one-of-a-kind devices for people with disabilities, all at no cost to recipients. When the right solution doesn't exist in the marketplace, they simply build it. ๐จ
We are so appreciative of the numerous times May We Help has stepped up for Saint Joe's โ generously donating custom devices that have made a real difference in the lives of those we serve. Their kindness and dedication do not go unnoticed, and we are truly grateful for this partnership. ๐

โจ Mission Monday Spotlight: Meet Angie โจ
Last week, we had the privilege of sitting down with Angieโs family while they visited all the way from New Jersey โ and what an incredible story they shared. ๐
Angieโs connection to Saint Joeโs spans generations. Her mom was actually adopted through Saint Joeโs back when we were known as St. Joseph Infant and Maternity Home. Years later, Angie now calls Saint Joeโs home herself.
Born and raised in Cincinnati, Angie grew up in White Oak alongside her three younger siblings and spent lots of time with family on the West Side. Her family lovingly calls her โRangie,โ while those closest to her at work affectionately tease her with the nickname โAngie-licious.โ ๐
Angie has lived full-time at Saint Joeโs for more than 10 years. Before that, her family often utilized our respite services as she navigated a medically complex life growing up. But if you meet Angie, youโd never know it โ she is constantly smiling, full of joy, and has a way of making everyone around her smile too. (We can absolutely attest to that!)
When asked about some of Angieโs favorite things, her family laughed and shared: her Chippendale calendars, Skyline Chili, and sip-and-paint classes. ๐ท๐จ๐ญ
One of Angieโs biggest accomplishments during her time at Saint Joeโs has been learning how to successfully use her communication device. Using her elbow to press the buttons, sheโs now able to communicate more independently with both her family and care staff โ something that has truly transformed connection and communication in her daily life.
Her family shared that Saint Joeโs means everything to them. They called it their โsaving graceโ โ a place that has provided Angie with incredible, consistent care and a true home.
Angie brings so much joy to everyone around her. Her happiness is truly infectious, and we are so grateful she is part of the Saint Joeโs family. ๐
