2024 University of Cincinnati Spring Football Camp was a great success. UC ROTC Enrollment Officer, Mike Prows helped to welcome over 1000 campers to UC. As a camp sponsor, he spoke about the ROTC program and helped motivate the campers to have fun, make new friends and do their best.

This week the Bearcat Battalion wrapped up the semester. For PT we conducted our Cincinnatus run as well as playing ultimate football. For lab we conducted our awards ceremony to recognize our cadets hard work this semester. Great job this year to our cadets, and congratulations to our seniors who will be commissioning here in a week! Be The One!

On April 6th, the Bearcat Battalion hosted a Norwegian Ruck March. The ruck consisted of an 18.6 mile with at least a 25 pound ruck. We would like to thank the many participants from the area and all of those who assisted at aid stations and supported us!

“2 months ago I began working on a project that focuses on Hispanic students joining ROTC. Latinos are the fastest growing population in the military yet only make up 8% of the officer corps.
I have spent my entire life advocating for immigrants and their families because I too come from a family who came to the United States for a better life. When English isn’t your first language and you’re working to provide for your family, while living in fear of deportation, higher education seems so far out of reach. Which is why I’ve made it my mission to go to as many schools, Spanish churches, career fairs, Hispanic markets and let people know of the legal resources in our surrounding area, college information, Army benefits and so much more in SPANISH. It’s important to see someone who looks like you, represents what you stand for and understands the barriers against your community, make it. Helping first generations one college application at a time ✨” - UC Gold Bar Recruiter, 2LT Almazan-Lacy

This past weekend the Bearcats conducted their JFTX with both Miami and Xavier University. The weekend started with a Chinook and Black Hawk ride from Lunken Airfield to Ft. Knox. Thursday the forces conducted day and night land navigation. Friday the CDT’s conducted an M4 qualification, completed an obstacle course, as well as rappelled. Saturday the CDTs were integrated in PLT’s for STX lanes where the CDT’s executed a raid, an attack, an ambush, and a movement-to-contact. Everyone did a great job this weekend and worked extremely hard. Great job Bearcats keep working hard!

This week has been a shorter one at the university, as the Bearcat Battalion will be joining the All For One Battalion for JFTX tomorrow. To start off the week, CSM Hayes from 7th Brigade came to join us for a ruck at PT and class to give us insightful information for our careers. Today the Bearcats had ACFT and HIIT workouts for PT. At lab this week we were able to have a Black Hawk land at the Blue Ash campus and have a fun event open to the public. The Bearcats will be in Ft. Knox the rest of the week to put all of our training into action!
