We’re grateful to Clermont County, Ohio - Government for recognizing October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month and standing alongside survivors.

Thank you for helping make survivor safety a community priority!

The Clermont County Board of Commissioners proclaimed October 2026 as Domestic Violence Awareness Month in Clermont County.

The proclamation recognizes that everyone has the right to live free from violence, fear, intimidation and abuse, and highlights the importance of raising awareness, supporting survivors and connecting individuals and families with available resources.

The proclamation was accepted by Stephanie Shoe of YWCA Greater Cincinnati, alongside Women Helping Women, advocates and survivors who continue working every day to support those impacted by domestic violence.

Clermont County is proud to stand with survivors and those working to create a safer, more compassionate community for all.

This Domestic Violence Awareness Month, remember that support starts with connection.

From our 24/7 Hotline, survivors are routed to one of our many programs, such as DVERT, Hospital Advocacy, financial assistance, and more. Women Helping Women is here to help survivors find safety, resources, and support; one connection at a time.

"The last half of the year this year, there has been an increase in strangulations; there's been an increase in stalking; there's been an increase in simple assault domestic violence."

Domestic violence continues to impact too many people across our community, and the need for support is growing. As we recognize Domestic Violence Awareness Month, these numbers are a powerful reminder of why supporting survivors and investing in prevention are so critical.

We are so excited to announce that the Ohio Attorney General's office has awarded WHW with a $950,000 grant to strengthen support for sexual assault survivors and expand prevention efforts in our communities.

This investment means more support, more education, and more opportunities to create lasting change. We are incredibly grateful to continue this work alongside a community that believes survivors deserve to be heard, supported, and empowered.
