A new historical marker was unveiled at William Henry Harrison Riverfront Park in North Bend on October 12, commemorating the Wyandot Removal Trail and the forced removal of the Wyandot people from their homeland in 1843.

The removal route stretched 130 miles from Upper Sandusky to Cincinnati, where nearly 700 members of the tribe boarded steamboats bound for the Kansas Territory.

Hamilton County is proud to have supported this project through our Planning + Development and Community & Economic Development departments, helping preserve this important history and creating opportunities for education and reflection.

We are so proud of the recent Ohio Economic Development Association award winners!

The Forest Fair Mall Park redevelopment project won an Award of Excellence - Project of the Year! The County was able to support the project through an Economic Impact Grant.

Congratulations are also in order for Commissioner Stephanie Summerow Dumas on receiving an Award of Meritt - Local Champion of the Year.
