At Over-the-Rhine Community Housing, we know that housing stability means more than having a place to call home. It also means having access to healthcare, supportive services, and a community that cares.

That’s why we’re grateful for our partnership with the University of Cincinnati School of Nursing! Every Thursday, Public health nursing students spend time at Jimmy Heath House, our permanent supportive housing community, providing health education, preventive care, and hands-on support to residents. They also help with everyday tasks like preparing meals, tending the community garden, and maintaining shared spaces.

By bringing housing and healthcare together, this partnership helps us support residents’ overall well-being while giving future healthcare professionals valuable experience in community-based care.

We’re thankful for partners who share our commitment to helping our residents thrive!

We are excited to announce that we were awarded $10,000 from the KeyBank Foundation in support of Rental Assistance for OTR Community Housing residents!

These funds will help ensure our neighbors can remain in quality, stable, affordable housing, even when times are hard. When unexpected challenges arise, rental assistance can make all the difference, providing support when it’s needed most and helping residents maintain stability.

We are grateful to the KeyBank Foundation for investing in our neighbors and helping us ensure everyone has a place to call home.

MARCH AND RALLY FOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING!

Join neighbors and community partners on October 21st as we rally and march for immediate action toward housing for all!

In Cincinnati, more than one-third of our households cannot afford our current homes.

At our City’s current pace of affordable housing development, it will take hundreds of years to ensure everyone has a place to live.

At the same time, the federal government is aggressively cutting funding for our permanent housing responses to homelessness and pushing to criminalize our people on the street.

📅 Wednesday, October 21
📍 11:30 AM: Gather at Piatt Park; march to follow
🪧 12:15 PM: Rally at City Hall

Together, we can stand up for our neighbors to ensure everyone has an affordable place to call home. Join the march!

We’re excited to share that we have received a grant from Norfolk Southern through its Thriving Communities Grant Program!

This funding supports Permanent Supportive Housing programming at Jimmy Heath House and Gloria’s Place, covering staffing and program costs to ensure the continued delivery of effective, evidence-based services that help residents address immediate needs and maintain housing stability.

Thank you, Norfolk Southern , for helping us create a stronger, safer, and more resilient community!

Thank you for joining us at the 19th Annual Celebrating Our Beloved Community: Walk Our Blocks!

It meant so much to see our community come together for a special evening. We hope you enjoyed learning more about the programs we create for with residents, seeing our housing vision come to life, and experiencing what’s possible when we come together to provide quality, stable, affordable housing for our neighbors who need it most.

Your support helps us continue building a stronger, more connected, and more inclusive community!

A special shoutout to Findlay Market for hosting us for the third year and to The Rhined for providing the delicious food that helped make the evening even more special!

Members of the New Republic stepped in to support Over-the-Rhine Community Housing for Walk Our Blocks, where we represented two of our OTRCH projects: Mid Line and Pleasant House.

Mid Line will bring 57 affordable apartments to the Vine street corridor, pairing new construction with the rehabilitation of a mid-19th-century building. Pleasant House will create 25 new permanent supportive housing units on Pleasant Street in Over-the-Rhine.

We’re grateful to partner with Over-the-Rhine Community Housing and the important work they do to create and preserve affordable housing in our community. We’re looking forward to seeing both of these projects come out of the ground!
