Low ferritin (iron deficiency) increases lead absorption in children. Iron and lead use the same intestinal transport pathways, so when iron stores are low, the body may absorb more lead from water, food, or airborne particles — even when a child lives in a newer home not associated with lead-based paint (post-1978 housing).
Pediatric treatment usually includes iron supplementation or vitamins, and physicians often monitor blood lead levels over many months. As iron stores improve, lead levels may decline over time.

I ran into the Don Popp's Honey Farm family at the Duke Energy Convention Center during the Holiday Market event. I am a big fan of honey produced in the Cincinnati region for so many reasons. Home grown honey is known for its incredible, natural health benefits, including soothing a sore throat, reducing allergy symptoms, decreasing blood glucose levels in diabetics, and many more. Local honey farms like Don Popp's are not only helping us in Cincinnati stay healthy, but they are supporting the balance of our world's ecosystem! Honeybees, and their role in pollination, are vital to our existence. Unfortunately, pollution is having a devastating effect on the health of their colonies. There are many ways we can easily contribute to the preservation of our world, and one of these is to support local farms, such as Don Popp's, who do so much for our environment. Honey is a delicious, healthy food...you can't lose! Please search online to discover more about honeybees and ways you can do your part in reducing pollution to protect them. By doing so, you will be helping Mother Earth, and all who depend on her, thrive.

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your generous support in voting for me for City Council. I like to imagine that you think of me as a fresh face, passionate, educated, independent person who has true work ethic. We mirror each other, share similar values, and we are all Americans who strive for equality and truth. Though we did not win this race, I have no regrets. I am proud and thankful to have been given the opportunity to represent you in any form and to have shared the forum with the other candidates for whom I have developed great respect. I believe our city is in capable hands. You all made history with me, and as countrymen together we will continue to pursue a better, fairer, more fruitful future for Cincinnati.

I recently received an unjustified Order demanding that I vacate my home within 14 days. The bureaucracy in this state allows power hungry employees to abuse citizens to the extent that they can unfairly evict them from their homes, and, to add insult to injury, withold reasonable time and feasible alternatives. This is unacceptable. It is an irony that the Ohio Department of Health can vindictively persecute individuals and catapult them into poverty. The contradiction can't be denied.

I am the candidate who wants to hear your ideas first. I represent an independent platform and I owe nothing to any political party. My opinions on the issues really don't count. It's what the people think that counts. That is why I spend all of my time going out in the community, all over the city, talking to people and listening to them. And I would do that as a member of council.

I am the only immigrant on the ballot with no personal agenda. I want to help citizens of Cincinnati. Please vote on November 7th!

My opinion is not important. I am much more interested in what you think. I support Habitat for Humanity. Great job to organizers (Policy Learning with Candidates for City Council at Niehoff Urban Studio and Candidates Issues Night at Bush Community Center). Please access the speech:

I am a naturalized citizen. I spent 15 years of my life obtaining my citizenship. I understand the system. I can help Cincinnati grow by attracting talented foreign nationals. It's NOT a zero sum game which means one man gets a job and another loses his job. We can create more jobs in Cincinnati with the help of talent from around the world.
