We are honored to be the new home for this amazing collection. Stop by the Archives and Rare Books Library to learn more about Melinda C. Wells Brown and her amazing collection. Portions of her collection are on display for a couple of more weeks (through March 31) as part of the exhibition "Tiny Treasures: Celebrating the Miniature Book Collections of Melinda C. Wells Brown and Kalman L. Levitan"
After the passing of UC alumna and beloved librarian, Melinda C. Wells Brown, A&S '57, her daughter, M. Allyson Brown, MD, gave her mother's cherished collection of miniature books to the Archives & Rare Books Library, University of Cincinnati.
📖 The Melinda C. Wells Brown Collection of Miniature Books will be on display until March 31rst on the 8th floor of the Carl Blegen Library.

Materials from the John D. Caldwell papers continue to fascinate us. These documents will head to the Preservation Lab tomorrow for some conservation and repair.
1. Militia roster for the Elijah Strong Company, 1st regiment, 1804-1805
2. Copy of abolitionist David Barrow's petition to Congress to set aside land for formerly enslaved individuals, 1815
3. Bills of lading for steamboats carrying goods bound from Cincinnati to New Orleans, 1835
4. Letter still sealed within a decorative envelope for the 1888 Exposition
