With great sadness, we share that one of our members passed away today. Captain Ronald E. Wilson, Jr. of Engine 34 passed while off duty. Captain Wilson joined the CFD in 1995 and spent time on Engines 51 and 19. He was a husband, father, and respected member of the Department. We ask that you respect their privacy, but please keep his family, friends, and CFD brothers and sisters in your thoughts and prayers.

Joined by truck 23, crews found their way through heavy smoke to the third floor where the victim had taken refuge on a balcony. While the victim was removed via ground ladder, crews continued to search the remainder of the building. The injured firefighter and victim are doing well.
