What a great day at the Township’s circus event! Thank you to everyone who came out on Saturday to enjoy the fun, laughter, and amazing performances. The talented team from the Cincinnati Circus Company put on an outstanding show, and it was wonderful to see so many families and community members having a great time together.

A special thank you to Doug Dresie and his crew for their hard work organizing the event. We also appreciate Clough Pike Baptist for providing the bounce houses, Ohio LandSAR for assisting with traffic control, and Rumpke for supplying trash receptacles.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success!

A beautiful day for fishing at our 4th annual Casting with Cops event! 🎣

A special thank you to the Locust Lake Homeowners Association for hosting, along with our generous sponsors who helped make this event possible.

Law enforcement officers from Pierce Township, the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office, Miami Township, Great Parks of Hamilton County, the City of Reading, Ohio Department of Natural Resources, and our federal partners enjoyed spending time and building connections with youth from our community.

A special recognition to Pierce Township Officer Christopher Chesney for his outstanding work organizing this event.

Today, we recognize and thank Detective Kevin Barkley for his dedicated service to the Pierce Township community as he concludes his time with our department.

Detective Barkley joined the Pierce Township Police Department in 2017, following the start of his law enforcement career with the Amelia Police Department in 2012. In 2021, he was assigned to our Investigations Unit, where he played a critical role in solving hundreds of cases and supporting victims throughout our community. In 2022, he earned certification from the State of Ohio as a Master Criminal Investigator—an achievement that reflects his professionalism, skill, and commitment to the job.

Kevin will now continue his career as a Special Agent with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation. While we are sorry to see him leave, we are proud to see him take this next step in service to the people of Ohio.

Please join us in thanking Detective Barkley for his 9.5 years of service to Pierce Township and wishing him continued success in this next chapter.

Thank you, Kevin.

We have noticed some misinformation being communicated on some social media sites about Flock cameras. Here are the facts:

Flock cameras are license plate reader (LPR) systems designed to capture objective data (license plates, vehicle make, model, color, and distinguishing features). They are not facial recognition systems.

The system is used strictly for law enforcement and public safety purposes, such as locating stolen vehicles, locating wanted persons, and investigating crimes.

Data is not shared with the general public or private individuals.

Access to Flock data is restricted to authorized law enforcement personnel and is governed by strict user permissions and audit logs.

All searches conducted in the system are logged and subject to review, ensuring accountability and proper use.

Flock Safety does not sell or provide data to non-law enforcement agencies for unrelated purposes.

Data sharing between agencies occurs only with other verified law enforcement agencies for legitimate criminal justice purposes.

The system does not track individuals in real time or monitor people’s movements continuously. It only captures vehicles that pass a fixed camera location.

Data is automatically deleted after a set retention period (typically 30 days), unless it is needed as part of an active criminal investigation.

The use of Flock cameras complies with applicable laws, policies, and constitutional protections, including safeguards against misuse.

In Pierce Township, Flock cameras assisted in solving a bank robbery.

If you would like additional information, please contact Police Chief Paul Broxterman at (513) 947-2002 or [email protected]

Thank you.
