Mrs. Lewis’ first graders are shining bright! ✨

In writing, students are learning the power of opinions and sharing their big ideas. In math, they’re playing “Flip, Build, and Subtract” to explore how numbers change. In science, they’re diving into motion, designing toys and discovering pushes, pulls, and gravity in action.

Shine Week in Mrs. Hardesty’s class! ✨ Students strengthened leadership skills by creating positive affirmations and brainstorming ways to fill others’ emotional banks. They dove into fairy tales to make their writing more engaging and are excited to begin writing their own stories soon! They wrapped up the week by leading the school-wide Brave Rave! 💫

Shine Week in Ms. Casto’s kindergarten class! ✨ Students explored teen numbers, visited Green Acres to learn about farm jobs, practiced snap words during Family Feud Friday, and ended the week with a karaoke dance party—so much learning, teamwork, and fun all week long!

An incredible night at our District-Wide K–12 STEM Night. Our community learned side by side through hands-on activities that sparked creativity and problem-solving. Using the design thinking process, students imagined, created, and improved, all while having tons of fun!

Mrs. Miller’s 1st graders made Shine Week a perfect mix of strong learning and heartfelt kindness! ⭐️
Students used a February word list to strengthen phonics and vocabulary through interactive Lift the Flap books and practiced writing while creating their “Pizza My Heart” Valentines.
They also filled each other’s Emotional Bank Accounts with kind words, building both skills and a strong classroom community.

Celebrating the amazing learning that’s happening in Ms. Yarnell’s class! The students explored the driving question: How did famous artists create art inspired by their lives and work? 🎨✨

Students read picture books about famous artists—Monet, Rousseau, Van Gogh, Cassatt, and Thomas—kept journals with three facts and one question, learned the parts of a paragraph, and wrote artist-inspired paragraphs. They wrapped it all up by creating their own artwork using a variety of tools and media. Learning truly came to life through reading, writing, and creating!

✨ BRAVE RAVE LEADERSHIP MOMENT ✨

At our recent Primary School Brave Rave, we were thrilled to welcome the Indian Hill Girls Varsity Basketball Team 🏀

They shared what leadership means to them, teamwork, perseverance, and lifting others up, and inspired our students to be brave leaders every day. We are so grateful for these incredible role models!

🌟 Spotlight on Mrs. Brich’s Kindergarten! 🌟

Our kindergarteners have launched a PBL exploring the question: How do families around the world celebrate winter in special ways? ❄️🌍

This week student experts led learning about Christmas in the Philippines 🇵🇭 and Lunar New Year in Korea 🇰🇷 with help from former kindergarteners who returned to share their traditions. Students learned about maps, flags, and customs, created hanbok paper dolls, and shared their own family traditions in our Winter Holiday Tradition Museum.

We even connected literacy and math through The Gingerbread Man and a hands-on roll-and-find math game! 📚➕🎲

🌟 Mrs. Wise’s Spotlight Week! 🌟

Morning play is our favorite way to start the day! It gives our kindergarteners the perfect chance to ease into learning, connect with friends, and spark their creativity. 💛

Mrs. Wise’s class is also becoming confident readers who love sharing their reading with friends! They’re exploring books from their classroom book library, and their excitement for stories is truly something to celebrate. 📚✨
