In 2025, YWCA Greater Cincinnati had:

2,573 emergency hotline calls answered

1,099 survivors served through shelter and housing

337 survivors supported in navigating the legal system

And 84% of survivors who received emergency shelter and supportive services at Francie’s House transitioned to permanent housing.

Week Without Violence ends today. The work doesn’t.

This week, we’ve joined YWCAs across the country in centering young voices and asking what it will take to create a future free from gender-based violence.

The answer starts with what we do next: listen to young people. Talk openly about healthy relationships and consent. Believe survivors. Challenge behaviors that normalize violence. Learn the warning signs. Share resources. And keep these conversations going long after this week ends.

A week without violence is the campaign. A future without violence is the goal.

Young people are navigating challenges, pressures and experiences that adults don't always see or fully understand. Their perspectives aren't just valuable. They're essential to creating meaningful change.

But listening is only the beginning. We have a responsibility to take their concerns seriously, challenge harmful behaviors and create environments where young people feel safe, respected and empowered to speak up.

This , we're reminding our community that meaningful change doesn't come from speaking FOR young people. It comes from listening TO them and turning what we learn into action.

Ending gender-based violence requires more than responding after harm has occurred. It means giving young people the knowledge, tools and voice to help prevent it in the first place.

That means creating space for honest conversations about healthy relationships, consent, boundaries and power. It means listening when young people tell us what they are experiencing. And it means making sure they know where to turn when something doesn’t feel right.

During , we’re centering young voices because young people shouldn’t simply inherit the work of creating safer communities. They should have a voice in shaping them.

Join us for the 39th Annual She Screams Without Sound Candlelight Vigil as we honor lives lost to domestic violence and stand alongside their families.

📍 Hamilton County Courthouse, 1000 Main St.

The evening will include reflections, candle lighting, the reading of names and a silent march around the courthouse. The vigil is free and open to all, rain or shine.

What happens when we truly listen to young people about intimacy, power, consent and harm?

Today at 3 p.m., join us for a virtual event featuring clips from WATCH YOU RISE, a documentary that examines sexual violence through the experiences of young people, survivors, families and advocates.

The event will also feature a live conversation with filmmaker Isabella Grace Cohn exploring safety, justice, healing and the systemic changes needed to end gender-based violence.

This week, we’re asking an important question: What do young people need not only to survive violence, but to heal, rebuild and thrive?

During YWCA’s Week Without Violence, Oct. 19–23, we’re joining YWCAs across the country to center young voices in the movement to end gender-based violence.

Young people are disproportionately impacted by intimate partner violence, sexual assault, grooming and exploitation, yet their voices are too often missing from conversations about prevention and change.

This week, we’re listening. We’re learning. And we’re rising together to build a future free from violence.
