Water Project Update

Traffic Control and Street Closures

Please refer to the attached traffic control map (Sheet TC-1) for the full closures of 5th Street and 6th Street between B Avenue (Hwy 200) and A Avenue, beginning Thursday, October 15, 2026, for mainline installation. Work is scheduled Monday through Saturday, with Sundays off, and is subject to weather conditions.

Hwy 200 will remain open, and no detour will be required. Residents will maintain access to their homes via alleys. Fire Department access will be maintained at all times.

With colder temperatures on the way, we want to remind anyone currently on temporary water to please leave a small, steady trickle of water running inside your home.

This will help prevent the water lines from freezing and help keep your water service running during the cold weather.

Here is an update on the progress for the water project:



White’s Civil has completed all of Schedule 2 and is approximately 50% complete with the water main rehabilitation. For the next two weeks, they will be working in F Avenue between 8th Street and 10th Street replacing water main and service lines. Following that, the will move to 5th and 6th Streets to complete the rehab there. The project goal is to be done by November 1, but that may extend a week or two into November. Please note the asphalt paving restoration will be completed in the spring to allow the trenches to be well compacted over the winter.

White Civil put in nearly 2,300 feet of water main and services so far of about 4,500 feet, leaving about 2,200 feet remaining.
