Today, CASA staff and volunteers joined in the Silent Victim's March with Haven House to help bring awareness and support for those who suffer or have suffered or lost a loved one to domestic violence. Domestic Violence is a pattern of controlling behavior—including physical, verbal, spiritual, psychological, or economic abuse—used by adults or adolescents against intimate partners.
Domestic abuse can affect ANYONE. Women are most often victims, but men may also experience abuse.
Abuse can begin subtly with attention, jealousy, or possessiveness, then escalate as emotional, financial, or social ties make leaving harder. Haven House of Pickaway County, Inc. is a domestic violence and homeless shelter. They strive to empower survivors of domestic violence by providing advocacy, shelter, support and safety planning. They also provide shelter for women and children who are homeless, offering crisis intervention, case management, legal advocacy, referrals, support groups, peer-to-peer support and more. All of their services are free and confidential. If you need help or just need to talk to someone you can call 24-hours a day, seven days a week. 740-477-9113.
