🚒 Fire Prevention Week at Clarendon CISD! 🔥

Yesterday, firefighters Buddy Howard, Anna Howard, Hunter Howard, Chris Reuter, and Max Madsen visited Clarendon CISD to celebrate Fire Prevention Week!

Our firefighters had the opportunity to speak with all elementary and junior high students about fire safety and the importance of fire prevention.

A big thank-you to Clarendon CISD for welcoming us and helping us spread this important message. Together, we’re building a safer community, one student at a time! ❤️🚒

On this 25th anniversary of 9/11, all of us at the Clarendon Volunteer Fire Department will never forget the courage, sacrifice, and bravery of the 343 FDNY firefighters who gave their lives that day.

Pictured here is an emblem designed by one of our own firefighters, Kyle Hill, all those years ago. We have proudly displayed this emblem on most of our apparatus ever since, as a lasting reminder of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Twenty-five years later, their courage continues to inspire firefighters everywhere.

May we always remember the 343, their families, their brothers and sisters in the fire service, and all those whose lives were forever changed that day.

Never Forget. 🇺🇸🚒

PSA — Donley County Residents
To help keep our firefighters safe, please be aware that when you encounter a house fire or other emergency scene where fire hoses are stretched across the roadway, please DO NOT drive over the hoses or drive close to our fire trucks.

Please slow down, keep a safe distance, and follow the directions of emergency personnel on scene. Your cooperation helps protect our firefighters and allows them to do their job safely.

On the evening of August 3, the Clarendon Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a roadside grass fire near the entrance to Greenbelt Lake. Four units and eight firefighters responded and quickly brought the fire under control.

As wildfire season is once again upon us, we ask everyone to do their part to help prevent grass fires. A few simple precautions can make a big difference:

Properly dispose of cigarette butts—never throw them from a vehicle. Make sure trailer safety chains are secured and not dragging on the roadway, as they can create sparks. If you plan to weld, be sure you have a water supply on hand and the area is free of vegetation. Avoid outdoor burning during dry and windy conditions, and always follow local burn restrictions.

If you see smoke or fire, report it immediately by calling 911.
