🚑🔥 A HISTORIC MILESTONE FOR HCES — 20 YEARS IN THE MAKING! 🔥🚑
October 9, 2026 marks an exciting new chapter for Harrison County Emergency Squad (HCES)!
Ambulances 639 and 679 successfully completed their inspections today by West Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services (WV OEMS) staff, marking a major milestone in the continued growth and modernization of our fleet.
These brand-new 2027 Wheeled Coach Citi Medic ambulances are the 15th and 16th units in the HCES fleet—and represent the first new ambulance additions in 20 years!
📈 A NEW RECORD FOR HCES!
HCES has never operated a fleet of this size. While this is a historic milestone, it is important to recognize that our fleet has always been managed through a fleet replacement program designed to maintain reliable, dependable ambulances for the communities we serve. These new additions represent the next step in that ongoing commitment, expanding our capabilities while continuing to invest in the equipment, technology, and resources our crews need.

This milestone is about more than adding two ambulances. It’s about growth, preparedness, investment, and ensuring HCES has the resources necessary to meet the changing needs of our community.
From maintaining a structured fleet replacement program to reaching an all-time high of 16 units, HCES continues to move forward with a clear focus on operational readiness, crew safety, and delivering exceptional patient care.
A huge thank-you to everyone who helped make this investment possible, to our dedicated HCES personnel, and to the WV OEMS staff who completed today’s inspections.
