Voter fraud or tax fraud - this is the question Rep. Glynn is going to end up answering.
This article unveils that he took veteran tax relief from the state for years, and each year he had to attest that his home, in my district, was his primary residence. The problem is that he is registered to vote at the apartment he claims is his residence in his district. Under the law, you can't have two primary residences, so it seems he is stuck between two felony convictions.
The article says, "Glynn said his wife lives in the house on Northfield Drive, and he lives in the apartment on Needmore Road." So here, the Representative appears to admiting to tax fraud: if his primary residence is his apartment, yet he took tax relief on the home he owns.
But let's be honest, who gets elected and abandons their family to live in an apartment down the street? Will the TBI investigation will prove, that Rep. Glynn indeed lives in the home he has attested to the state each year as his primary residence, with his wife and where his kids lived? I believe so.
Ultimately, I digress, it would appear that Rep. Glynn has broken one law or the other, and is stuck choosing, or having the evidence prove, how he has broken the law.
Montgomery County deserves better.
P.S. This investigation clearly has nothing to do with Rep. Glynn running for office and living outside his district. You are legally allowed to do this, but are supposed to move into your district once you are elected. As stated above and as the article suggests, this is about registering to vote and voting in a residence that is not his primary residence, OR defrauding the state by claiming veteran tax relief for a residence that is not your primary residence, which he attests is his primary residence each year for years.
