We would hope that our Clarksville community would join this group but we would encourage anyone to join.

We feel that this can be an effective tool to reach out into our community with information and updates about anything from family safety to events that our department provides. Each summer the fire department teams up with the local library and has provided Clarksville's largest sprinkler system to let the kids enjoy a nice cool down. Several thousand gallons of water at approximately 67 degrees is pumped thorugh the fire truck in a safe yet fun way to give the kids an enjoyable afternoon. We will be posting other benifits that affect us and the surrounding communities. We hope that you will get involved and get ready for some fun!

Last weekend, Clarksville C8 and C24 attended the Training to Perform Under Pressure Fire Attack Fundamentals course at Jonesville Fire Department sponsored by the Gary Sinise Foundation. They practiced line selection, stretch estimates, line placement, and advancement considerations with special focus on the principles of water mapping and its impact on fire dynamics and occupant survival.
Strong Work!

Thank you to Richard & Greens R & R Wrecker Service for allowing CTFD members to utilize one of their buildings to get some reps in throwing ladders.

Crews practiced ladder placement for firefighter window ingress/egress, victim rescue and roof access. A few even managed to sneak in some quick truck company evolutions.

It was a beautiful day for hose testing. We planned a day to work through all our large diameter supply lines as it takes a bit more effort and time vs all our smaller attack lines. Some departments choose to hire this out, but then you miss out on all the wonderful team bonding 😅

Departments are supposed to annually service test all their hoses to get ISO credits. Insurance Services Organization is an outside group that audits fire departments for items like training, maintenance, and pre-planning records. The credits they give you get turned into your rating. That rating then is typically used by most insurance companies as part of determining your monthly rate.

So while not the most fun way to spend our time, it is important that we complete that task

🚧 Bell Rd Bridge Update at Duck Creek 🚧

The contractor has completed pile driving for the bridge foundations on both sides of Duck Creek on Bell Rd.

Crews are now placing rebar and forming the pile caps, with concrete expected to be poured later this week. Once the caps are complete, the bridge beams will be shipped to the site and set in place, with bridge deck work to follow shortly after.

We appreciate everyone’s patience as improvements continue on Bell Rd! 👷‍♂️
