🐾 Keeping Our K9 Heroes Safe in MoCo! 🛡️

We are thrilled to share that another one of our dedicated MCSO K-9 Unit K9s is now fully protected with a brand-new, custom-fitted bullet and stab protective vest!
This vital safety equipment was generously donated by the incredible non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. Their mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests—and other lifesaving assistance—to law enforcement dogs across the U.S., and we couldn't be more grateful for their continued support of our four-legged deputies.
Please join us in thanking Vested Interest In K9s, Inc. for keeping our K9 heroes safe while they protect and serve our community! 🐾💙

We want to extend a sincere thank you to a wonderful anonymous donation of tennis balls to our MCSO K-9 Unit! Our four-legged officers work hard to keep our community safe, and rewards like these keep their spirits high and tails wagging during training and downtime.

We truly appreciate your help in supporting our local law enforcement and K-9 team! 🐾🐾🎾🎾❤️❤️Thank you.

Thanks to our community’s outreach and support, our unit has new 🎾 for training and reward. At the end of the day, our hardworking K9s are still pups at heart.
Watch our other Explosives Detection K9, Ranger, have some “off-duty” fun. Psssst… this is part of his training but he doesn’t know that. 🤫

While working the Presidential security detail yesterday, Joe's Garage at Shelby's Trio welcomed all law enforcement inside to use their facilities and coffee on the house. Your MCSO K-9 Unit was out there, despite the Inclement weather and stopped nothing from proceeding. Thank you to the staff at Joe’s Garage for your kindness and generosity.

Relax Deebo, she’s taking care of business.
K9 Deebo is chill… but not that chill.
He’s ready to get back on the road with his partner, Deputy Carson, after she finishes with court. Not gonna lie though, we are so thankful and grateful he and the other K9s have a safe and comfortable kennel inside the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, Tennessee to wait in, thanks to K9 Memorial WRTP.

🎃🐾 CALLING ALL K9s! 🐾🎃

Our K9s want to know… what are YOUR K9s dressing up as for Halloween?! 👻🐶🦴

We know K9 Senna is ready to get into the Halloween spirit… but surely she’s not the only one! 👀😂🎃

📸 Drop a photo of your costumed pup in the comments and show us what they’ve got!

Let’s see those costumes! 🐕‍🦺🦇👻🎃

Building trust starts early! 💙🐾

Law enforcement and K9 partners can sometimes seem a bit intimidating to little ones, which is why our team loves getting out into the community to show our friendly side. We had a wonderful time visiting the incredible kiddos at St. B Early Learning Center!
It’s so important to us that the youth in our community see us as approachable, supportive mentors. Thank you to the school and families for having us out for such a fantastic day! K9 Paco enjoyed himself too.

K9 Memorial WRTP did it again for our MCSO K-9 Unit, by donating more indoor kennels for our K9s. With the addition of two more, our Patrol K9s have a suitable place indoors, while their handlers are in office completing reports, training, or whatever other tasks might briefly pull them from the road.

Pictured below:

-K9 Ranger (assigned to Deputy BeCraft, Patrol Division – Explosives Detection)

-K9 Deebo (assigned to Deputy Carson, Patrol Division – Narcotics Detection)

Thanks again to K9 Memorial WRTP for your continued support of our K-9 Unit. These incredible dogs are invaluable assets to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, Tennessee, our community, and their handlers.

*K9 Memorial WRTP is a nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring and remembering law enforcement K9s who have passed away.

As part of the new leadership implemented by our newly elected Sheriff Mike Oliver - Montgomery County, TN, it is now time to introduce to you Sergeant Kelley Potter as our new MCSO K-9 Unit Supervisor. Bringing an impressive background of 20 years in law enforcement—with 17 of those years dedicated specifically to canine handling—Sgt. Potter brings a wealth of expertise, tactical leadership, and a deep passion for K-9 operations to this role. He trained under Sgt. Braxton “Gill” Wood’s direction and standards from 2009 til his passing in 2012, and intends to carry on his legacy. If you know you know. Now under Sgt. Potter’s guidance, our canine unit is exceptionally well-positioned to continue serving and protecting our community with the highest standards of excellence. This Unit is near and dear to our Sheriff’s heart and Sgt. Potter shares the same commitment and dedication.
