A Novel Blend started with a simple idea: bring books and drinks together and see where the story takes us.

Throughout September, our partnership with Boulevard West gave us a fun way to celebrate Library Card Sign-Up Month. Two book-inspired drinks made it onto the menu, some BLVD staff got their own library cards, and plenty of people discovered just how short the walk is between BLVD and Hocutt-Ellington Memorial Library.

We loved hearing from you along the way, too. One person told us, “This is so cool! I can’t wait to try.” Another shared, “Thank you Hocutt-Ellington Memorial Library and staff for making our library awesome!”

But one of our favorite parts was seeing so many people sign up for library cards. This month, we welcomed 300+ new adult cardholders, nearly 60 young readers, and more than 30 digital-only sign-ups.

Thank you to Boulevard West and everyone who voted, stopped by, or followed along with A Novel Blend. The drinks may have brought us together, but we hope your library card gives you plenty of reasons to keep coming back.
