Mrs. Southwood's 8th grade science students completed an activity to see if they could "survive the classroom"! Students have been discussing change over time and natural selection. For this activity, students were challenged to try and camouflage a paper butterfly in the classroom as different staff members came in to try and "hunt" their butterflies to see who would survive!

🦋 Can you spot the butterflies?
Miss Southwood’s 8th grade Science students wrapped up their Natural Selection unit with a fun, hands-on camouflage activity! Students created paper butterflies designed to blend into their surroundings & we became the “predators.”
👀Here are a few of the best and best-hidden butterflies! Some of these are going to be tough to find!

Our PCC students have had some exciting career conversations and experiences recently with local professionals and companies!

Most recently they heard from Mr. Long with Electric Plus and did a hands-on electrical lightbulb challenge. And just today they learned from Mr. Searls and Ms. Adams with Lift Academy and had the opportunity to try their hand at a flight simulator!

Exciting stuff for our kids and a big thank you to all of our presenters and Mrs. Kiger for her work to set-up these experiences.

The National Junior Honor Society of CMS and the Disabled American Veterans organization are joining forces to build a field of flags as a tribute to veterans this Veterans Day. DAV’s Field of Flags empowers our community to setup up fields of American flags, all to honor local veterans and raise critical funds to support our ill and injured heroes.
