The city council is live!

I was honored to attend last night’s HopeSource Be A Hero Fundraiser at Suncadia with Deputy Mayor Buechle-Curtis. It was a spectacular event filled with friends, hope, and a lot of money raised. Over $50K raised just in the “raise the paddle” alone - John Curley did a great job as always. HopeSource is an incredible asset to our community and a great partner to the city.

Flock update.

Flock Camera Update

On September 28, the City Council made the decision not to renew the City’s contract with Flock Safety. The contract ended yesterday, September 30.

The City had five Flock Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) cameras. As of October 1, the City has covered all five of its cameras, as shown in the photo below, and the cameras are no longer able to collect license plate data.

The Cle Elum/Roslyn Police Department is currently coordinating with Flock Safety to determine when the City’s cameras can be fully decommissioned and removed.

Community members may still see Flock cameras around the area. These cameras are not owned or operated by the City.

Rick Rizzs has graciously served as Master of Ceremonies over the past few years at the Cle Elum Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. I appreciate his willingness to brave the elements and make the trek over to help make our annual event a success.

Congratulations on your retirement, Rick! Thank you for sharing your voice, charisma, and talent with the Pacific Northwest for over 40 years.
