Where is tanker 13?

In the beginning of September, Tanker 13 was placed OOS for approximately 4-6 months and was sent to Patriot Fire for a refurbishment to get another 10 years out of the unit versus buying a new one at this markets pricing. Assistant Chief Weber and FCFRD Specialist Horvat went to check on progress and provided us these photos of its current state. Stay tuned for further updates as they come and hopefully soon enough we will have a tanker again!

Back in August firefighter/emt Lonas was at a concert and came into contact with a representative of this company who stated they were looking to add more Ems units to their roster. It just so happened we were selling our Dodge 13-2 to make room for the new one arriving next year. The gentleman was given the contact info for Assistant Chief Weber and the purchase of this unit was achieved. Thank you to everyone who had a part in this. And thank you to Sanders Apparatus Photography for capturing this amazing moment in our department history. Also in this post is our brothers and sisters at Round Hill Community Fire and Rescue’s old 15-2. Such a cool thing to have two former neighboring departments units working together as one again!

Thank you FCFRD C-Shift for handling this pub ed.

About a month ago one of our members was at a concert and found a point of contact for a private transport company that provides EMS service to the Jiffy L**e Live venue. That volunteer was able to get them in contact with our Assistant Chief and as of yesterday we have sold Ambulance 13-2. You will be seeing it again with a new life at the Jiffy L**e Live stadium providing EMS services. Stay tuned, we have another unit slated for delivery next year to replace this one!

13-2 has served the department for almost 15 years and will do well in its new life.
