Did you know that we have four different book clubs to choose from each month? πŸ“šοΈ We provide a variety of genres and meeting times to try and meet people's schedules and interests where they're at. From the introvert club that doesn't have a meeting time, to the Books on Tap group that meets at Lake Time, we hope you can find the group for you. Here's what we're reading in November!

πŸ”Ž Find Out Friday!

Two resources you'll likely notice first as you visit the library are the 🍞 Community Pantry and the πŸ₯— Hydroponic Tower. Both of these resources are partnerships with Healthy Harvest of North Iowa!

The Community Pantry is a place for you to take and/or leave fresh produce and shelf stable foods (canned or dried goods). If you're swimming in extra produce from putting the garden to bed, have some canned goods you bought for a recipe you didn't make (and they aren't expired yet), or are just feeling generous on your next grocery run, feel free to leave those items in the pantry on your next visit. Likewise, if you're visiting the library and could use those items at your own home, please feel free. There are grocery bags on the wall for transport.

The Hydroponics Tower is also used to supplement the pantry throughout the year. Produce from the tower is used for library programs like kids cooking clubs and the Harvest Dinner held during summer reading. When there is extra produce to harvest, especially during the winter months, those items are bagged and placed in the community pantry fridge. Right now, we're working to start lots of lettuce and herbs for the winter growing season. Be sure to stop by and check out their progress - and check the fridge for a bag to take home!
