Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library The Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library serves the residents of Clearfield, Bradford and Lawrence Townships. All donations are tax-deductible.

Founded in 1940, the mission of the Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library is to serve the educational, recreational, informational, and cultural needs of our community. We offer seven patron computers with printing capabilities and free wi-fi. There are a variety of storytimes for families to enjoy as well as a children's area for play and motor skill development. In addition, the Library has a large sitting area overlooking the river for all of our patrons to enjoy. The Library collection includes books, audiobooks, and magazines, as well as access to online audiobooks and e-books. The Library is a non-profit organization that depends on state funding and donations in order to provide services to our community.

Book Club has been moved to Tuesday, September 29th at the Shaw Public Library. We are reviewing Run Rose Run written by James Patterson and the late great Dolly Parton. October is officially recognized as Adopt a Shelter Dog Month. In support of this, the library is unveiling their newest story on the community Story Walk called Odd Dog. It is a beautiful story of adoption and acceptance of a shelter pet. It is being supplied from support received by the Sunshine Circle of the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church of Woodland. In honor of this month, the library will be accepting donations for the Clearfield County SPCA. Their wish list consists of dry and canned kitten food (Purina), dry puppy food, non clumping cat litter, trash bags, laundry detergent, copy paper, Chewy Gift Cards, paper towels, dog/ cat treats, towels, blankets, toys, Kong toys, Walmart and Amazon Gift cards to purchase what they need. Monetary donations would help greatly to help pay the utility costs. Let's all pitch in and do our part to help our furry friends. And if your looking to add a new member to your family, check out the animals that are available for adoption.

It was an amazing final week of Summer Reading at the library. We had special guests visit. Sarah Lyle brought her skulls and talked Bugs, Bugs, Bugs with our littles. Rotary read a story and gave out coloring books and crayons. The older kids tested their minds with a great game of Dinosaur memory and excavated their dinosaurs. The YMCA closed out their visit to the library by putting their tickets in prize boxes. Our annual Paint and Sip at Liddle Gallery was a huge success. Jodi did a great job showing us how to paint our patriotic sunflowers. Great job everyone! Lastly, the library closed so that staff and the Summer Reading participants could enjoy a fun-filled day at DelGrosso's Amusement Park. They gave us a free pavilion and drastically reduced their ticket prices. Eric and AJ served up the hot dogs and burgers. Pizza was on the menu too along with chips, and applesauce. The day was perfect with over 65 in attendance! The winners were announced and prizes can be picked up. Thank you to everyone who participated, donated, helped in any way to make this summer reading a success! We appreciate you! To the kids, have a safe return to school! We will be at the Tools for Schools event next week as we give out school supplies. Check us out!
