The Ohio Historical Underground Railroad Trail traces the path of freedom seekers who escaped slavery via a secret network of safe houses and routes - many of which ran right through our state.

One stop on the trail: The Cozad-Bates House is the only pre-Civil War home left in the University Circle district. It now acts as a museum highlighting the area's history as a point of anti-slavery activism, while honoring freedom seekers through exhibits and installations.

The Cozad-Bates House Interpretive Center will be closed during its regular hours this Saturday, May 24. Please come back and see us when normal open hours (Saturdays 12:00-4:00 p.m.) resume on May 31!
