Mrs. Ashley Allison, Extension Agent II with Mississippi State University Extension, brought the Gray for a Day: Understanding Aging Simulation to our Health Science, Law and Public Safety, Early Childhood, and Lodging, Hospitality & Tourism students!

Through hands-on simulation activities, students experienced some of the challenges older adults may face as their senses and functional abilities change with age. This interactive experience helped students better understand how aging can affect everyday tasks and the importance of patience, empathy, and providing appropriate support to others.

The 2026-2027 Educator Preparation classes began their student internships at DM Smith Elementary School and Parks Elementary School. They got a chance to meet their supervising teacher and students they will be serving. They look forward to what the school year has to offer!

Connecting Today’s Learning to Tomorrow’s Opportunities!

On Thursday, October 8, 2026, students from Cleveland Career Development and Technology Center attended Congressman Bennie G. Thompson’s Annual College and Career Fair at the Washington County Convention Center.

Students connected with representatives from colleges, universities, the military, law enforcement, businesses, and industries, gaining firsthand insight into the pathways available after high school. They also applied to colleges, Hadi Olvera, Makayla Hunter and Amar’e Harper explored volunteer opportunities with the American Red Cross, students participated in a hands-on CPR demonstration, and much more!

At Cleveland Career Development and Technology Center, we want our students to leave with more than a plan—we want them equipped with the skills, credentials, and confidence to put that plan into action.
