Our Cleveland Police Explorers competed in the Heart of Ohio Law Enforcement Exploring Competition this weekend—great job to all!

👏🏼 Congratulations to the Medina County Sheriff’s Office Explorers on taking 1st Place Overall!

We sent 3 teams, placing:

• 11th Overall
• 22nd Overall
• 27th Overall

💣🚔 Exploring the Bomb Squad 🚔💣

Today, our Cleveland Police Explorers had the unique opportunity to learn about the critical role of the Bomb Squad and the specialized training required to handle explosive threats.

Explorers gained insight into:
• Bomb threat response procedures 🚨
• Safety protocols and evacuation considerations 🛑
• Equipment and tools used by Bomb Technicians 🔧
• The importance of patience, precision, and decision-making under pressure

This hands-on learning experience gave our Explorers a deeper appreciation for the high-risk, highly skilled work performed by Bomb Squad personnel. 💪🏼

Today, our Cleveland Police Explorers had the opportunity to train in Crime Scene Investigation, learning the fundamentals of securing, processing, and documenting a scene properly.

Explorers practiced:
• Scene security and perimeter control 🚧
• Proper evidence identification and preservation 🔬
• Crime scene documentation and photography 📸
• Chain of custody procedures 📋

Hands-on training like this helps our Explorers understand the precision, patience, and professionalism required in serious investigations.

A special thank you to Detective Legg of the Homicide Unit and Detective Duplaga of the Crime Scene Unit for their time and leadership in teaching and mentoring our Explorers.

Today our Explorers pushed themselves during Physical Training (PT) and immediately transitioned into an intense Officer Down scenario.

Training under physical stress helps build endurance, teamwork, and the ability to think clearly when it matters most. From conditioning drills to coordinated response tactics, our Explorers continue developing the discipline and resilience required in public safety.

🩸🚑 Training That Saves Lives 🚑🩸

Our Cleveland Police Law Enforcement Explorer Post #7 recently completed critical training in Stop the Bleed and Officer Down response—learning lifesaving skills that can make a difference in moments that matter most.

This training focused on hemorrhage control, rapid response, teamwork, and officer safety, reinforcing the importance of being prepared to act under pressure.

A huge thank you to the MetroHealth Trauma Department for providing this outstanding training and for their continued commitment to education, preparedness, and public safety.
