A Place 4 Me is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing and ending youth homelessness in Cuyahoga County. ❤️🏠

Our work – from convening partners, to aligning agendas and combining resources – has attracted attention from national partners, including A Way Home America (AWHA). AWHA is a national initiative to build the movement to prevent and end homelessness among young people. It consists of homeless youth providers, advocates, researchers, government agencies, philanthropists and young people uniting behind a common goal to end youth homelessness. This summer, after a nationwide search, AWHA invited three communities (Cleveland, Austin and Los Angeles) to support national learning through launching 100-Day Challenges, an effort supported by the Administration on Children, Youth and Families; Casey Family Programs; Melville Charitable Trust and Raikes Foundation. The challenges will identify and execute innovative practices to end youth and young adult homelessness, community by community. The challenges do not provide additional dollars for services directly. What these challenges offer is innovative support and technical assistance to set ambitious goals to work differently with what we do have as we identify resources that will scale up what works across the United States. With guidance from the Rapid Results Institute, Cleveland, Austin and Los Angeles have each formed multi-agency teams, set ambitious 100-day goals and are now pursuing those goals through intensive collaboration and innovation. Our ambitious goal is to house 100 homeless young adults in 100 days, and to strengthen support systems so that no child in Cuyahoga County will age out of the foster care system into homelessness ever again.

A Place 4 Me is mourning the loss of Christian "Chris" Anderson, a beloved member of our community, a former member of A Place 4 Me's Board of Directors, a member of the REACH Youth Action Board, and a fierce advocate for young people experiencing homelessness, housing instability, and foster care.

Chris was a dedicated leader whose voice, passion, and commitment to young people helped shape the work of A Place 4 Me and our broader community. He also served on the Continuum of Care Advisory Board and was a fellow of the Jim Casey Youth Opportunities Initiative of the Annie E. Casey Foundation.

Chris played an important role in the development of our Youth Drop-In Center, helping shape the vision for a welcoming space where young people could find safety, connection, and a sense of belonging. His contributions will continue to make a difference in the lives of young people for years to come.

Our team's thoughts and prayers are with Chris's family, his fellow REACH Board members, and the many community partners and friends who worked alongside him. We know his loss is felt deeply throughout our community.

At A Place 4 Me, we often speak about the importance of elevating youth voice and ensuring young people are leaders in creating change. Chris lived those values. His leadership, advocacy, and the relationships he built will not be forgotten.

He will be deeply missed. ❤️

Meet Ariana Broom, a Youth Navigator at A Place 4 Me!

For Ariana, supporting young adults means more than connecting them to housing, employment, and other resources. It's about building trust, offering encouragement, advocating for their needs, and creating a safe space where they feel comfortable sharing their experiences.

One of her favorite parts of the job is celebrating the moments when things finally fall into place. After facing setbacks, long waits, and repeated "not right nows," hearing the relief and joy in a young adult's voice when they finally get a "yes" makes it all worthwhile.

Ariana also emphasizes that everyone's path to stability looks different. A healthy, supportive environment can make a meaningful difference, and understanding each young adult's unique circumstances is essential to helping them move forward.

“Do you have a place for me?”

It was a question young people began asking early in A Place 4 Me’s story.

In the beginning, our work was focused largely on changing systems and strengthening our community’s response to youth homelessness. But when young people came directly to us looking for help, we knew we had to respond.

That question helped lead to the creation of Youth Navigation and the direct services that remain a core part of our work today.

Each year, A Place 4 Me’s Youth Navigation team serves hundreds of youth and young adults across Cuyahoga County, providing individualized support, resource connections, and flexible assistance based on each young person’s goals.

What makes this work so powerful? Youth Navigators bring lived experience to their roles, helping build trust, deepen understanding, and ensure support is grounded in the realities young people are navigating every day.

We’re hiring a Youth Drop-In Center Manager!

As A Place 4 Me prepares to open a new Youth Drop-In Center in Cuyahoga County, we’re looking for an experienced, compassionate leader to help launch and lead this new resource for young people ages 16–24 experiencing homelessness or housing instability.

The Youth Drop-In Center Manager will oversee day-to-day operations, build and support the Center team, strengthen community partnerships, and help create a welcoming, low-barrier environment where young people can access resources, support, and meaningful connections.

Last week, the Youth Homelessness Membership Collaborative came together to continue advancing our Coordinated Community Plan to prevent and end youth homelessness in Cuyahoga County.

We were also excited to welcome two new members to the Collaborative: Care Alliance Health Center and Aspire Home! A special thank you to Care Alliance and for presenting to the Collaborative and sharing their expertise, resources, and work in our community.

We’re grateful to all of our partners who continue to bring their experience and commitment to this work as we strengthen our community’s response to youth homelessness. ❤🏠

A Place 4 Me and Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry are announcing the next phase in the development of the Youth Drop-In Center.

A Place 4 Me will assume full operational responsibility for the Center at an alternative site, building on years of partnership, planning, advocacy, fundraising, and leadership from young adults with lived experience.

The Youth Drop-In Center will create a welcoming, youth-centered space where young people can meet basic needs, connect with A Place 4 Me’s Youth Navigation team, and access housing, shelter, behavioral health, and other supportive services.

We are grateful for LMM’s significant contributions throughout the development of the Center and for the work our organizations have shared to move this vision forward.

We’re proud to celebrate with the Annie E. Casey Foundation as the Jim Casey Youth Opportunities Initiative marks 25 years of expanding opportunities for young people across the country.

A Place 4 Me was the Jim Casey Initiative’s first network site focused on housing stability for young people who have experienced foster care. Here in Cuyahoga County, that work brought together more than 20 agencies and partners around a shared goal: creating youth-led housing solutions that lead to lasting stability.

That spirit of collaboration and youth leadership continues to shape our work today as we work to prevent and end youth homelessness in Cuyahoga County through the Youth Homelessness Membership Collaborative.
