The Garfield Boulevard Green Infrastructure project in Garfield Heights has been recognized as the winner of Cleveland 2030’s Green Building Challenge in the Water Conservation/Management category.
Led through a partnership between, The City of Garfield Heights, Cuyahoga County Department of Public Works, Cuyahoga County Planning Commission and Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District, the project transformed a former streetcar corridor through a road diet that added a shared-use path and green infrastructure designed to slow and manage stormwater along nearly one mile of Garfield Boulevard.
This award highlights the power of regional collaboration to create safer, more sustainable and more connected communities across Cuyahoga County. https://cuyahogacounty.gov/executive/news/press-releases-archive/2025-press-releases/2025/10/30/celebrating-the-revitalization-of-garfield-boulevard
