BCSWCD Board members want to congratulate our Farmer of the Year: Bartlee Norton

Bartlee is a cattle producer and this year he has done the following practices:

- Installed 8,340 feet of fencing
- Installed 1,865 feet of pipeline
- Installed 3 watering tanks

A big THANK YOU to everyone who came out, rolled up their sleeves, and spent part of their season with us. We are grateful for our wonderful community and all the hard work, dedication, and delicious produce that came through our doors this year!

Keep an eye on your mailbox for our annual newsletter! It will include important updates and information to help you get ready for the 2027 canning season.

Until then, enjoy the fruits (and vegetables!) of your labor. There’s nothing quite like opening a jar of something you worked hard to put up and enjoying a little taste of summer all year long!

TOMORROW!

The application window for the Tennessee Agricultural Enhancement Program (TAEP) opens soon.

Producers may apply online only from Oct. 1-7.

TAEP helps Tennessee farmers improve their operations, strengthen the state’s agricultural economy and support a reliable local food supply.

Updates for the 2026-27 program year include:

• Reduced minimum requirements for certain sectors
• A new Livestock Fencing program for livestock producers
• A name change from Livestock Solutions to Farming Solutions
