πŸ“ž "Just call your doctor."

Sounds easy enough, right?

Now imagine navigating an automated phone system in a language you don't speak.

For many refugee and immigrant families, something as simple as scheduling an appointment can become a major barrier to healthcare.

At Partnership for Good Health, our Community Health Workers help families navigate these everyday challenges β€” making calls, coordinating appointments, arranging interpreters, and helping patients understand what comes next.

Sometimes improving healthcare access starts with something as simple as helping someone make a phone call.

πŸ’™ That's health equity in action.

πŸ’™ Beyond the Exam Room

A doctor's appointment may last 20 minutes. But what does it take to get someone there?

Sometimes it's arranging transportation, scheduling the appointment, or helping someone navigate insurance.

Other times, it's explaining medical instructions, following up on referrals, or connecting a family with food and essential supplies.

At Partnership for Good Health, our Community Health Workers do the important work that happens before, between, and after medical appointments.

They help refugee and immigrant families overcome barriers that can make accessing healthcare incredibly difficult.

Because good healthcare takes more than a doctor's visit. It takes a community of support.

Explained β‰  Understood. 🌍

In healthcare, sharing information is only half the battle. Making sure people understand it is just as important.

At Partnership for Good Health, we've created multilingual health education videos to help bridge that gap.

From blood pressure and dental care to healthy eating, cancer screening, and navigating public transportation, our videos make important information more accessible in 8 languages!

πŸ‘©β€βš•οΈ Healthcare professionals and community partners: We encourage you to use and share these free resources with the families you serve.

πŸ’™ Supporters: Help us spread the word! Sharing these videos is one simple way to help make healthcare more accessible.

Because health information should do more than reach people. It should make sense to them.

πŸŽ‰ Partnership for Good Health is 4 years old!

Four years ago, Partnership for Good Health began with a simple belief: everyone deserves the opportunity to understand, access, and navigate their health care β€” regardless of language, culture, or where they were born.

Since then, we have had the privilege of walking alongside hundreds of refugee and immigrant families as they establish care, navigate complex health systems, welcome new babies, manage chronic conditions, and build healthier lives in our community.

None of this work happens alone. We are incredibly grateful for our Community Health Workers, staff, Board members, Community Advisory Boards, health care and community partners, funders, volunteers, and β€” most importantly β€” the families who trust us to support them.

Four years in, we are proud of how much Partnership for Good Health has grown while remaining grounded in what mattered from the beginning: listening, building trust, and making health care easier to understand and access.

Thank you for being part of our first four years. πŸ’›

Yesterday, one of our CHWs was out delivering food boxes when she got a flat tire.

A tow truck driver was already nearby helping someone else and, when he finished, he came over and helped her tooβ€”just because he saw she needed a hand.

Because of his kindness, she was able to get back on the road and keep making deliveries.

To the friendly stranger who stopped to help: thank you. You made a bigger difference than you probably realized!

What does a day in the life of a Community Health Worker look like?

It can mean helping a client understand an appointment, making phone calls, coordinating care, problem-solving, driving across Cleveland β€” and sometimes doing all of that before lunch.

Here’s a glimpse into a day with one of our PGH Community Health Workers.

Behind the scenes at PGH πŸ’›

This month, our team packed approximately 2,700 diapers and 45 packages of wipes for 45 children ages 36 months and under.

Each bundle will go directly to a family in our community β€” helping make sure parents have one less essential expense to worry about.

And next month, we’ll do it all again.

Small packages. Practical support. A meaningful difference for families.

Food access is an important part of good health.

Through food deliveries and SNAP assistance, our team helps families meet immediate needs while connecting them with longer-term resources.

So far, these efforts have resulted in:

πŸ₯« 82 food boxes delivered
βœ… 13 SNAP applications approved
πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦ More than 300 community members reached

Every food box provides immediate relief. Every approved SNAP application helps a family move toward greater stability and lasting food security.
