Our Division of Consumer Protection resolves consumer disputes against businesses, investigates scams and warns the public about current scam threats. Our Division of Weights and Measures checks the accuracy of scales, dispensers (such as gas pumps) and timed devices (for example, air pumps and laundromat dryers.) Call us!

Shred-It Day is coming up for Westlake residents!

Westlake residents can safely dispose of personal and confidential documents during the City’s upcoming Shred-It Day on Saturday, June 13, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Westlake Elementary School parking lot, 27555 Center Ridge Road.

A Shred-It truck will be on site, and staff will handle the documents while you watch them be shredded.

Please note: Residents may bring up to the equivalent of two standard-size copy paper boxes per household. Driver’s license identification is required. The event is free and will take place rain or shine.

Accepted items include paperwork, floppy disks and CDs containing personal or confidential information. Staples and paper clips do not need to be removed, but paperwork should be removed from binders and notebooks before arrival.
