We will be holding a POD Drive Through and Set Up Process exercise on Thursday, September 26th at the Independence Middle School.

We are looking for 10 people to help with the set up AND we would like to have 5 nurses participate in this event to dispense medication in the form of candy.

WE ALSO NEED AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE TO DRIVE THROUGH THE POD! Drive-through-only cars should meet at the Independence City Hall at 6:30 p.m. You can have as many people in the car as you want and all will be listed on the NAPH form. Please ask your family and friends to help us test our readiness by simply driving through!

To help, please meet at the Independence Fire Department at 5:00 p.m. to gather materials and then we’ll proceed to the Middle School at 5:30 p.m. If you signed up for the POD Set Up Team, we need you! This is a great opportunity to review the set up process!

EVERYONE- whether setting up or driving through should contact Mary Benedek at (216) 447-1928 or by email at [email protected] so we have an approximate count of vehicles!

Thank you! We appreciate your help with our mock-drill practice of our POD!! You will receive credit for the hours you volunteer!

We are so grateful that the residents of Boston can sleep well tonight. Many, many tactical and trained professionals brought this to an end in the best manner possible. It is, to the best of my knowledge, unprecedented to shut down a community as they did. They truly put the safety of the residents first and their training and patience brought this to successful resolution.

Our quarterly General Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 6th at 7:00 p.m. We will be holding a FEMA class called: Active Shooter: What You Can Do. It's a very interesting class and the material will help you should you ever find yourself in this extremely frightening situation. Unfortunately we hear this all too often in the news and a few tips may save your life and the lives of others.
