Lincoln Park - Tremont

Tremont's heart is Lincoln Park, bounded by West 14th, Kenilworth, W. 11th St and Starkweather.

Donated to the Tremont neighborhood by the Peltons in the 1800's, a gathering place for families, children and the home of the annual Tremont Arts and Cultural Festival. The park, named when President Lincoln brought the Union Troops to the area during the Civil War, was originally park of the area's short-lived Cleveland University. Today, Lincoln Park is home to the neighborhood swimming pool, a generous number of park benches, and a picturesque gazebo.

anitakeys will have a Sweet Music week, playing Tremont Farmers' Market in Lincoln Park - Tremont on Tuesday, 9/11, from 4-7pm and Brent Kirby's 10X3 at Brothers Lounge Wine Bar on Wednesday, 9/12. Special Guest Ryann Anderson on bass for both shows. Sunday, Sept. 16th, anitakeys and friends (also including Quinn Sands and Lorne Franklin) will perform at Ingenuity Festival 2012, downtown on Dock 32, 1:00 pm.

Chateau Hough, a Re-Imagining Cleveland Project, not only is a vineyard for growing grapes for future wine making, but also is a tool for changing people's lives and altering perceptions of the Hough neighborhood. Founder Mansfield Frazier brings a variety of people to the vineyard to plant and tend grapevines - from formerly incarcerated men to college professors to volunteers from the suburbs. His next project is a "biocellar" (a greenhouse that is partly underground) on the adjacent lot using a foundation from a soon-to-be demolished home. Visit Chateau Hough today and tomorrow on GardenWalk Cleveland. One of our Tremont gardens features grape vines from Chateau Hough!!
