We have heard that Liberty County Commissioners may discuss transferring Deputy Constable positions from several Constable’s Offices, including Precinct 5, and giving those positions to the Sheriff’s Department. That does NOT mean those Sheriff Dept deputies will get re-assigned back to your community. The deputy constables patrolling your neighborhoods right now may not even have a job if this reallocation of positions takes place.

This is not one agency against another. Public safety works best when all agencies are supported and working together.

We are respectfully asking for the community’s support. Please contact your County Commissioner (or all of them) prior to July 8th and ask them not to support any effort to reallocate staffing or resources from any Liberty County Constable’s Office.
Thank you for standing with Precinct 5 and supporting local public safety.
