David Hunter Liberty Co. Constable Pct #5

Apparently it is National Donut Day. We would not normally eat donuts in uniform, but when the Salvation Army brings donuts to the office then we must eat them. Thank you very much Ladies for the Crime Fighting Power Biscuits !!!

Today we remember the loss of a good friend and fellow Deputy. RIP brother until we meet again.

Tonight will be my 17th Project Graduation lock- in to volunteer at, if I remember correctly. Pct 5 Constables have been donating security to this event as far back as I can remember. My wife remembers the late Constable Frank Taylor being at her Project Graduation back in 1992. It makes for a LONG day with end of school and graduation festivities all day then to attend a lock-in all night, but these kids are worth it. We enjoy watching them have good clean SAFE fun for the night. I’m happy Tarkington has always continued this tradition.

Sorry for the delayed entry we at Pct5 Constables Office have been very busy but on 5/19/26 Deputy Zepeda and K9 Deputy Sasha made a traffic stop on CR2235 on a vehicle for speeding which led to a K9 Alert on the vehicle that led to the officer locating Illegal narcotics believed to be 1.1 grams of Methamphetamine which is a Felony that led to two arrest. One suspect was identified as a W/M last name Tanton and a W/F last name James were arrested and charged and transported to the Liberty Co Jail. Great job well done by these officers to try and tackle the illegal narcotics in our community. As always all subjects are innocent until proven guilty in court.

Today Constable Hunter and Deputies Burt and Aranda put on a mandatory state class for the High School Juniors about Interaction with Law Enforcement and Safe Driving. It’s always a pleasure to help educate our young people to keep them safe.

Today Pct5 Constables David Hunter and Deputies Zepeda, Aranda, and of course K9 Sasha participated in Career Day at Tarkington ISD. It’s always a pleasure to inspire our youth 💙

The Constable’s Office is currently out on this overturned excavator at the corner of 2292 and 2293. Avoid the area, if possible, while we get it removed. Reach out to my office if you know anything about it.
