๐จ CPOP INITIATIVE HELPS LEAD TO AGGRAVATED ROBBERY ARREST ๐จ
On May 11th, officers responded to the 3900 block of St. Clair Ave. for an aggravated robbery where a victim was assaulted at gunpoint and his vehicle stolen. The suspect later crashed the vehicle and fled on foot.
Third District Violent Crime Reduction Team (VCRT) detectives launched an investigation and shared suspect images with district officers. Through Community Problem-Oriented Policing (CPOP) follow-ups, Neighborhood Response Group (NRG) officers were able to identify the suspectโs location, leading to the arrest of a 21-year-old male and recovery of a firearm.
This case highlights the effectiveness of CPOP in addressing community concerns and supporting violent crime investigations.
Outstanding teamwork by Third District VICE, VCRT, K9, NRG, and patrol officers.

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost is asking Ohio Law Enforcement Agencies to pledge to commit to 250 acts of kindness in 2026.
Recently, a family became victims of a theft, leaving this young man borrowing shoes from friends just to keep doing what he loves most โ playing basketball.
When Cleveland Police Deputy Chief Morris, Deputy Chief Schlacht & officers learned about the situation, they knew they had to help. Officers got him a pair of shoes & personally dropped them off. Now this young man has some new Donovan (โSpidaโ) Mitchell shoes ๐
A simple gesture, but one with a lasting impact. Thatโs what community is all about.
Acts if kindness 8/250

Today, Chief Prosecutor Jordan, for the City of Cleveland, with the support of several judges & members of the Cleveland Division of Police, hosted a group of outstanding scholars from the John Marshall High School CTAG (Closing the Achievement Gap) Program. The event provided these young individuals with an opportunity to learn more about the justice system and explore future career opportunities in law and public service.
Students were encouraged to ask any questions they had, regardless of the topic, and received thoughtful responses from officers, judges, and prosecutors throughout the day.
Three judges graciously agreed to host students in their courtrooms this year: Michelle D. Earley, Andrea Nelson-Moore, and Bridgette O'Brien. Students had the opportunity to observe courtroom proceedings and gain firsthand insight into the judicial process.
The panel discussion during the lunch-and-learn session featured Detective Gessino from the 1st District, Detective Johnson from the 2nd District, Detective Dunn from the 3rd District, Detective Freehoffer from the Domestic Violence Unit, and Prosecutor Isaiah Pinckney, who helped round out an engaging and informative conversation with the students.
