On October 7, 2026, the City issued this Request for Proposals (“RFP”) to solicit proposals from interested parties for the purchase and redevelopment of City-owned residential structures (homes). This RFP is a solicitation for proposals from proposers that intend to redevelop and occupy the residence upon completion of appropriate rehabilitation activities, or will have a family member occupy the residence upon completion.

REMINDER: Hearing for Ordinance No. 142-2026 is coming up on October 15, 2026 at 6:00pm at City Hall (Council Chambers). Ordinance No. 142-2026 would amend the City's zoning code to permit accessory dwelling units (ADUs). ADUs are smaller, self-contained residential units that are located on the same lot as an existing home. The City and the Planning Department have been evaluating ADUs since 2024 as a means for building more resilient neighborhoods.

Residents are encouraged to attend the public hearing to learn about the zoning changes and share their feedback with Council. A public hearing is required for any zoning code changes (Code Section 1119.05).
