Last week, we celebrated a huge milestone—our Class of 2026 8th graders promoted to high school! 🎉

We’re so proud of all they’ve accomplished and even more excited for what’s ahead. With support from the High School Placement team at Beyond Breakthrough, our scholars are heading to 46 high schools across the Cleveland area—including selective and non-selective schools, CMSD, community schools, public and private options, and all-boys, all-girls, and coed environments.

Even more incredible: they’ve secured $200,000 in scholarships for the 2026–27 school year through the Howley and Sullivan Scholarships.

The future is bright, and their journey is just beginning. 💫

Families, here are two quick updates for the 2026–27 school year:

👕 Uniform Shirts: We’ll provide 5 free short-sleeve shirts for newly enrolled scholars.
The request form opens May 27, 2026 on Breakthrough's Family Resource page.

🚌 Yellow Bus Transportation: We’re still waiting on CMSD to share details for next year. This includes the bus provider and who is eligible. We’ll share updates as soon as we receive them!

SUN Bucks and SUN Meals Are Back for Summer 2026 ☀️🍎

Kids and teens ages 1–18 can get FREE meals all summer long at participating SUN Meals locations across Ohio. Young adults ages 19–21 with disabilities who are enrolled in school programs with an IEP may also qualify.

Families can also receive $120 per child through SUN Bucks to help buy groceries this summer.

✅ Many families will get SUN Bucks automatically if their child receives SNAP, OWF, or Medicaid or qualifies for free or reduced-price school meals.

✅ Benefits will be added to your Ohio Direction Card or mailed on a SUN Bucks card.

✅ SUN Bucks can be used at grocery stores, farmers markets, and more.
