Another Banner Year for Plants in the Park!

A big heartfelt thanks to all of the Cuyahoga County residents that came out to support PIP 2026 - it was another year with record sales!

Hit the Road with the MGVs for Their Annual Garden Bus Trip - July 25, 2026

This year's itinerary includes Garden Walk Buffalo, Brothers Nursery, & Niagra Falls!

Garden Walk Buffalo is a signature event that attracts 60-70,000 visitors every year from around the U.S., Canada, and beyond. The inspiring gardens have been showcased in dozens of magazines and other national media and offer the chance to meet landscape designers, master gardeners, and every skill level in between.

A local nursery and hosta farm is also on the agenda with display gardens featuring 350+ large mature hosta and beautiful well-established trees and shrubs.
The day will end with a little water feature just up the road called Niagara Falls!

False Solomon’s seal (Maianthemum racemosum) - Don't let the resemblance fool you - this woodland wildflower may resemble Solomon's seal (Polygonatum spp) but its blooms appear at the ends of their stems rather than the underside of the stem as with Solomon's seal. This native plant's roots and leaves were used medicinally by Native Americans for hundreds of years.

Be a Citizen Scientist - OSU is Looking for a Few Volunteers!

The Ohio State University Entomology Department is looking for volunteers to set up and then report on Lady Beetle traps for one week in June and one in August respectively.

If you are interested in participating in their Buckeye Lady Beetle Blitz, there will be a brief training session on June 4th. This opportunity is not limited to just Master Gardener Volunteers - any Cuyahoga County resident with a vegetable or flower garden may participate.
