Maple Heights Police Department Our mission is to safeguard our community's quality of life. The Maple Heights Police Department is currently staffed with 31 full time sworn Police Officers.

The City also has an Auxiliary Police force to handle situations such as traffic control, special events, and community-oriented activities. The Department also houses a 12-day jail with full-time corrections officers. The Department is part of the Chagrin Valley Regional Dispatch Center (CVD.) The award-winning dispatch center is equipped with the most up-to-date equipment available to include the enhanced 9-1-1 system, TDD machine and high band radio frequency. The Police Department, in partnership with other area communities, supports several specialized units through an organization called South East Area Law Enforcement (SEALE.) These units include a fully equipped SWAT Team, a Bomb Unit, a Hostage Negotiations Unit, a Narcotics Unit and an Emergency Command Post Team. To report suspected drug activity contact the SEALE Drug Task Force Narcotics Tip Line at (440) 735-6595. A cash reward is offered to anonymous persons who telephone the Crime Stoppers hot line with information which leads to the arrest and indictment of the person(s) responsible for felony offenses. In Memory of THOMAS STEPHEN MAGYAR; 83, Born on August 29, 1943 in Cleveland, Ohio. Tom passed away peacefully on September 26, 2026, surrounded by his family. Loving father of Karen Vargo (Joe), and Lesley Gatten (Jason); Cherished grandfather of Jaret, Brian, and Bryce; Beloved son of the late Julia (nee Liptok) and Stephen Magyar; Dear brother of the late Patricia Uthe (Jim); Former husband of Peggy. Tom retired as a Detective with the Maple Heights Police Department in 2001, after 32 years of service to the City of Maple Heights. He loved to spend time watching his grandson’s sporting events and working in his yard. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Tom’s name to Reserve Care Hospice 17876 St. Clair Ave. Cleveland, OH 44110 or online. Friends may call at the FERFOLIA FUNERAL HOME 356 W.
