SNEAK PEEK into the artist’s workshop.

Nicholas Fairplay, Master Stone Carver, is hard at work bringing to life the stone frieze entitled “The Gift of Greece to Civilization.”

Here we can see the plaster casts taking shape prior to the final carving onto Indiana limestone.

Do you recognize anyone?

The Greek Cultural Garden has begun its Spring clean up. Phase 1 was collecting the leaves, branches, and acorns along with a nice trim.

Getting ready for an eventful season!

In honor of the Centennial of Founder’s Day in Cleveland, on July 22, 1896, famous Cleveland son John D. Rockefeller, donated the wooded acreage that we all now call Rockefeller Park.

Upon this land are located the Cleveland Cultural Gardens. This park is listed on the National Register of Historic Places twice: once for the cultural gardens, and again for its historic bridges.

Let us take a moment to fondly remember the illustrious man who made it all possible.

Happy 86th Birthday to the Greek Cultural Garden!

On Sunday, June 2nd, 1940, Archbishop Athenagoras (later Patriarch of Constantinople), along with 2,000 participants, officially dedicated the Greek Cultural Garden to the City of Cleveland in the person of Mayor Harold H. Burton (later U.S. Senator and Supreme Court Justice).

May it forever be a testament to the profound influence of the Hellenic spirit on the United States of America! 🇺🇸🇬🇷
