Cleveland Democratic Socialists of America The greater Cleveland chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America

Democratic Socialists believe that both the economy and society should be run democratically to meet human needs, not to make profits for a few. We are a political and activist organization, not a party; through campus and community-based chapters DSA members use a variety of tactics, from legislative to direct action, to fight for reforms that empower working people.

CLEVELAND: EMERGENCY CAR CARAVAN THURSDAY, 10/15

Join us TODAY to STOP the sale of stolen Palestinian land happening at the Mandel Jewish Community Center. Every day we bear witness to the genocide and horrors committed by Israel with American tax dollars and American-made weapons. Now, the same people directly involved with the displacement of Palestinians are coming to Cleveland to facilitate more violence.

Yair Givati, one of the three guests on the event flyer, is a Tel Aviv real estate attorney who was one of five real estate magnates accused of marketing property in occupied Palestine by an NY anti-Zionist group. We can’t let this normalization of war criminals being welcomed in Cleveland continue.

[Don’t forget your driver’s license, working headlights and taillights, license/registration, and a full gas tank.]

📍 Meet at Acacia Reservation

Happy Birthday, Gender Freedom Policy!

Last year on this day, 10/6/2025, Cleveland DSA attended the Lakewood, Ohio City Council meeting to witness city history: the vote on our Gender Freedom Policy, crucial legislation protecting our trans comrades and drag performers.

We had drafted the language, gathered signatures, and presented the resolution for a vote. It passed *unanimously*. Trans rights are now the law of the land in Lakewood!

We can do it again in Cleveland! We need your help!

LUTHERAN HOSPITAL STRIKE CONTINUES STRONG, CLEVELAND CLINIC TAKES HEALTHCARE FROM THEIR WORKERS

In a recent escalation, Cleveland Clinic has taken away health insurance from striking workers - despite the fact that it was already paid for during the previous month. This union busting is disgusting, and Cleveland DSA stands in solidarity with workers who are confronting the greed of Cleveland Clinic.

Video recorded Saturday, 10/3/26, Day 11 of the strike
