We got to spend the last week at Clever R-V School teaching students Pre-k thru 5th grade fire prevention. We would like to thank the schools for allowing us this opportunity. We also would like to say thanks Christian County Emergency Management for thier assistance as well. Please take some time to ask your child what they learned.

Your fire fighters have been very busy today. We have responded to 4 outside fires, one structure fire, one motor vehicle accident and one medical emergency. I would like to say thanks to these firefighters and all the others that have had the same kind of day. We are asking for your help and please dont burn until we get some good rains.

We responded to two outside fires in Hurley Fire Protection District this morning. It is so dry that a guy cutting hay set this feild on fire. We ask that you do not burn until we get a good rain.

Earlier this afternoon, personnel from CFPD responded to assist the Highlandville Rural Fire Protection District and other responding agencies for an outside fire. Crews remaind on scene for quite some time to contain the fire and extinguish hot spots.

We would like to use this post as an example that the small amount of rainfall that we have received has not been enough to bring us out of these unfavorable, drought conditions. The heat and continued dryness allows fires to spread quickly, keeping the fire danger high!

Please refrain from burning until conditions can improve!

At approximately 16:05 today crews were dispatched for a report of a dog stuck inside of a cave.

Units quickly arrived on scene and found a small dog located approximately 20ft inside a small cave, unable to free himself from the confined area. Crews were able to access the cave and remove dirt and rock out from around the canine in order to create a larger space for extrication. Once the area had been opened up, personnel were able to coax the furry friend out from the space without injury.

Once freed from the confined space, sweet Knox was ecstatic to meet the rescue crew and even more excited to be reunited with his owners. The CFPD is proud to be able to serve our community and their beloved animal family members!

1. Why did you decide to join Clever Fire?
Tyler joined the department because he wanted to step up and make a real positive difference in the community he grew up in.

2. What does the camaraderie and culture around the firehouse mean to you?
For Tyler station culture is critical because trust is everything. He relies on his fellow firefighters to have his back in high stakes situations and they depend on him to do the exact same.

3. What's your favorite piece of equipment or tool on the truck and why?
His favorite piece of equipment is the spreaders often called the "Jaws of Life" because of how essential they are for rescuing people who are trapped inside vehicles after an accident.

4. If you won the lottery tomorrow, what would be the first thing you bought?
If he hit the jackpot tomorrow, the very first thing on his list would be buying a farm.

CFPD is set up along the parade route blocking roads for those not attending, don't worry roads will be back open shortly.

A friendly reminder that BOTH the City of Clever and Christian County are STILL under active burn bans. Yes, we have had rain and hopefully continue to get more, but until conditions continue to improve and the bans are lifted, that means you still must refrain from outside burning of any kind. Violation of these bans can and will result in consequences that we don't wish upon our residents! So please, continue to wait on lighting those burn piles for us!

We had an outside fire that burnt around 20 acres this afternoon. The fire started from a burn pile that the homeowner had two days ago. Please beware of the dangerous fire conditions that we are in. We appreciate the assistance from Billings Fire Protection District and Christian County Fire Corp. Just a friendly reminder that Christian County is under a burn ban right now. Let's hope for some good rain soon.
