It’s always a great day when the big kids stop by! Students from L'Anse Creuse High School stopped by the Early Childhood Center to read books, participate in fun crafts, and spend time with their preschool partners!

Our preschoolers look up to the big high school kids, so having opportunities like this helps both groups of students build confidence, work on leadership skills, and foster a love a learning.

Great work to both the high schoolers and preschoolers on making this such a successful collaboration!

On Friday morning, Detroit Lions tight end and L’Anse Creuse alumnus Tyler Conklin returned to his former elementary school for an exciting assembly!

Tyler stopped by Higgins Elementary School to announce that his foundation, the Tyler Conklin Foundation, will be funding the school’s new Hawk Hut, a dedicated space where students can go for snacks and clothing needs throughout the school year.

During his visit, Tyler spoke with students about respect and responsibility, played games, signed autographs, and took pictures with students, staff, and his former teachers. We are incredibly grateful to Tyler for his ongoing support of his former schools and community.

Our L’Anse Creuse Food and Nutrition Department put out a fantastic display of Michigan apples for students to try, along with fun activities to learn more about local farms and apples. Students also participated in apple-themed activities in their classrooms to enjoy all the fun that Apple Crunch Day had to offer!

This week we are celebrating National School Bus Safety Week and recognizing our outstanding LCPS Bus Drivers and Transportation Department for all the work they do to transport our students safely!

Each day, our bus drivers take on the tremendous responsibility of safely transporting thousands of students to and from school. They are often the first and last LCPS employees our students see each day. Thank you to all our Transportation staff for all you do for our students!

L'Anse Creuse Middle School-South had some exciting guests visit from across the pond today! A group of German educators stopped by MSS to observe classrooms, interact with students and staff, and learn more about an American middle school!

NJHS students acted as guides for the morning, leading tours of their school for the German visitors. In return, MSS students learned about schools, students, and everyday life in Germany.

Our Sabres did a fantastic job today and represented themselves, their school, and the district with great pride. Thank you, Mr. Youngblood, for organizing this unique opportunity for students, and thank you to our new German friends for spending their time in L'Anse Creuse today!
