TOWER LADDER 45 RETURNS TO SERVICE AFTER MECHANICAL REPAIRS

CFD Tower Ladder 45 was responding to a fire on August 17th when it sustained a mechanical failure that rendered the apparatus inoperable and out of service. It was towed to our fire apparatus mechanic where it was worked on until the end of September. There were also delays associated with procuring the needed parts to complete the repairs. Total costs for this repair were above $13,000.

Thanks to the Hunterdon County Board of County Commissioners and their 2026 Fire/EMS Grant Program, CFD was awarded $12,500 to pay for these critical repairs. Tower Ladder 45 is a regional asset that serves not only the Town of Clinton but routinely responds as mutual aid across North, West, and Central Hunterdon County.

Tower Ladder 45 was placed back in service on September 30th and responded to it's first call for service into Union Township just a few minutes after returning to the Town.

It was a busy and action-packed weekend for the volunteers of the Clinton Fire Department! Our selfless members spent Saturday sharpening their skills at a LDH Task Force drill, training on critical water supply operations to ensure we're ready for any emergency.

Throughout the weekend, our team responded to several fire calls, including motor vehicle accidents, gas leaks, and an appliance fire.

On Sunday, CFD and our mutual aid companies were alerted for a residential fire on Center Street. Units arrived on scene alongside CPD just minutes after dispatch and quickly located and extinguished a kitchen fire, preventing further damage.

A huge THANK YOU to our incredible volunteers! Your dedication and sacrifice does not go unnoticed. You continually put your lives on hold, day and night, to protect and serve your neighbors.

Interested in giving back to your community? Send us a message or stop by the firehouse any Monday night to learn more!

CFD and our mutual aid partners conducted a large scale water supply drill this morning. Units layed out approximately 3000 feet of large diameter 5" supply hose between 5 engine companies and sustained over 2000 gallons per minute of flow to Tower Ladder 45.

Thank you JCK Academy and the Hunterdon County Fire Chief's Association for sponsoring this training opportunity. Great job by all volunteers today!

Tonight, the Clinton Fire Department headed to Courtyard Luxury Senior Living for a drill on standpipe operations. Crews deployed high-rise packs and hooked into standpipes across multiple locations inside the structure to ensure seamless, rapid water delivery in this high-occupancy building.
While our firefighters were establishing water supply, Courtyard staff conducted a fire drill with residents—making tonight a total success for all.
Big thanks to the staff and residents at Courtyard Luxury Senior Living for hosting us and practicing safety alongside our team!
